Two policemen who were on court duty, handing out a warrant to a man, injured by the man’s family when they were meted out with stone pelting.

The superintendent of the Firozabad city of police said this happened on 20th January, Wednesday morning.

Inspector Anand Kumar and Constable Pawan Kumar of Line Paar police station had gone to Bhakti Garhi village, under their police station’s jurisdiction, to serve a court warrant to one Banvari Lal Baghel.

Baghel’s family, however, on seeing the policemen immediately started to pelt stones on them causing one of them to be landed in the hospital while the other sustained minor injuries.

The accused and the family have now been charged in a criminal case with assaulting a policeman and deterring him from his duty.
