A new lawsuit has been filed by Ken Paxton before the US Supreme Court challenging the 2020 elections.
The suit was a last-minute pass for President Donald Trump, and the last resort for Ken Paxton, who filed the lawsuit.
It seems that Ken has fallen into political jeopardy confronting criminal allegations.
8 of his aides believe that Ken has violated the law by using the agency’s resources by doing a political favor.
The allegations called for FBI investigation this week, which intensified when the officials presented a subpoena at AG Paxton’s office.
The Texas Republicans considered the allegations to be grave. Some groups have accused Paxton to have filed the case for his benefit.
“It looks like a fella begging for a pardon filed a PR stunt rather than a lawsuit — as all of its assertions have already been rejected by federal courts and Texas’ solicitor general isn’t signing on,” said US Sen. Ben Sasse, R-Neb.
A spokesperson for Paxton dismissed the speculation as “an absurdly laughable conspiracy theory” and said, “this lawsuit is about preserving the integrity of our elections.”
Paxton has claimed the case investigated “unlawful and constitutionally tainted votes” in four states that elected Joe Biden.
Experts, state officials, and U.S. Attorney General Bill Barr said that there is no evidence of voter fraud on a scale that could change the election results.
Paxton stated in the suit that during the pandemic era, the four targeted states violated the federal law as there were changes in the election procedures hence praying to the Supreme court of the U.S. to stop the states from voting in the electoral college.
U.S. Sen. Mitt Romney, R-Utah, said:
“The idea of supplanting the vote of the people with partisan legislators is so completely out of our national character that it’s simply mad.”
“This effort to subvert the vote of the people is dangerous and destructive of the cause of democracy.”
The lawsuit has drawn support from Trump voters across the country. Many of them believe the President’s false claims that he was “robbed of a rightful victory.”
