On Friday, Central Bureau of Investigation has conducted raid in the house of Agrasen Gehlot who is the elder brother of Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot.
Agrasen Gehlot owns a shop where he deals in fertilizers. The name of the shop is Anupam Krishi. ED had earlier alleged his involvement in the fertilizer scam. CBI is probing in that matter only. His shop was also searched by one team of CBI.
ED alleged that Agrasen had bought Muriate of Potash (MoP) a fertilizer from the government at subsidized rate and exported it to other countries like Malaysia and Vietnam at higher price.
This MoP was meant to sell in India at subsidized rates to farmers so that their crops can be protected. This incident took place between 2007 and 2009 and at that time UPA was ruling in the Centre.
The people close to Agrasen claim that no violation of law took place from his part. He even didn’t hold export license so how he can make exports. The illegal activity is done by those who bought the fertilizer from him.
Some people are linking this probe with the protest of Ashok Gehlot. He is Delhi and taking active part in protesting against the interrogation taking place with Rahul Gandhi over alleged National Herald Case by ED.
ED also claimed that all those involved in export of MoP had sent it under the guise of industrial salt.
