Supreme Court lawyer and BJP leader Ashwini Upadhyay, turned down his knowledge on the anti-muslim slogans, which were raised in Delhi following his march “against Colonial-era laws” in the country.
The rally took place at Jantar Mantar, Delhi and, people had raised inflammatory anti-muslim slogans. The rally, which was called by Ashwini Upadhyay, had a mass group of people and, they all marched for the ‘Bharat Jodo Movement’.
The rally aimed for the revocation of colonial-era laws and demanded a uniform law for all the citizens of India.
Last month, the BJP leader had filed a plea in the Apex Court challenging the Indian Penal Code and claimed for a judicial panel or to constitute a body of drafting experts to draft a ‘comprehensive’ and ‘stringent’ penal code for ensuring Rule of Law and equality.
Earlier, he had also filed a petition in the Supreme Court for having a Uniform Civil Code.
When Ashwini Upadhyay was asked about the anti-muslim slogans, which were raised in his rally, he instantly gave his denial and stated that the slogans might have been raised after the event.
