Shrirang Appa Barne is Member of Parliament. He was born to Shri Chandu Malhiri Barne and Smt. Laxmibai Chandu Barne at Thergaon, Pune, Maharashtra on 16th February 1964. He is matric educated and is a farmer, builder by profession. He has been awarded with “Sansad Ratna” Award by Prime Point Foundation and e-magazine “Pre-Sense” for Top performers of Indian Parliament in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019.
Shrirang Appa Barne is a Shiv Sena politician from Pimpri-Chinchwad, Maharashtra. He was the member of the 16th Lok Sabha of India. He represents the Maval constituency of Maharashtra. In 1997, he was elected as Corporator in Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation, till 2012.
In 1999, he was Elected as Chairman of Standing committee in Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation. From 2002-05 he became the Leader of Opposition of Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal & Member of Pune District Planning Committee.
After which in 2014, he was elected to 16th Lok Sabha. Then from 1 Sep.2014 to 25th May 2019 he was chosen as the Member of Standing Committee on Defense; the Member of Consultative Committee on Road Transport & Shipping and also, the Member of Parliamentary Committee on Official Language.
Later, in 2019 he was re-elected to 17th Lok Sabha and thereafter, he became the member of standing committee on finance and the member of consultative committee on ministry of Culture and Tourism.
LEGAL BACKGROUND
Total 3 criminal cases were filed against Shrirang Appa Barne amongst which 2 charges imposed were related to Disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant under IPC Section188, 1 Charges were related to Being member of an unlawful assembly under IPC Section 143, another 1 charges related toevery member of unlawful assembly guilty of offence committed in prosecution of common object (IPC Section-149) and 1 charges related to wrongful restraint (IPC Section-341).
However, Sena MP Shrirang Barne once had a few criminal cases pending against him in court but now he have been acquitted in all of them as the prosecution failed to prove any charges against him.
