The Bombay High Court granted bail to the Advocate Vimal Jha who was accused of kidnapping his client and demanding ransom of Rs 3 crore.
Last year in the month of May, a case was registered against Gole and his family members. Gole’s wife, after securing herself a bail, went to Advocate Vimal Jha to take the case and get her husband out of prison. T
he advocate demanded Rs 70 Lakhs as fees and was paid Rs 62 Lakhs.
Soon Navnath Gole was granted bail after that the advocate demanded for Rs 3 crore in order to secure his bail, and he also threatened Gole with getting him arrested in false cases if he failed to give the money.
Gole’s wife said that “My husband was kidnapped and taken to Nashik on April 2,”
The court raised doubts on the allegations such as it was observed that the medical certificate that was submitted by the Gole to prove his injuries was based on the checkup done at a private hospital and which was unreliable and raised particular doubts on the head injuries which had no reference in the FIR, also Gole stated that he was taken to a place like Nasik and Karjat where he didn’t raised any false alarm and also nobody had noticed any sought of such incident.
“Therefore, it is more surprising that Gole had not sought any help. It also does not stand to reason that an abducted victim would be taken to a crowded place like Big Bazar in Nashik,” said Justice Kotwal.
The Court observed that the allegations had reasonable doubts so it has ordered the CID to probe this matter and granted bail to the advocate Vimal Jha on surety of Rs 1 Lakh also he has been asked to submit his passport to the investigating officer.
