A four-member Special Investigation Team (SIT), headed by UP Industrial Development Commissioner (IDC) Sanjeev Mittal will scrutinize end to end movement of the Supertech Twin Towers project.
The SIT will inspect into the project from the initial stage, from the time of allotment of the land for the project in 2004, to its developments and judicial conflicts till date.
The SIT will question the top officials of the Noida Authority and will collect relevant documents in its controversial Twin Towers project.
The Noida Authority administered a land to its real estate group in November 2004.
After construction of Twin Towers on the land by the real estate group, in 2012 the Resident Welfare Association (RWA) of Emerald Court moved the Allahabad High Court.
The High court ruled in the favour of the RWA in April 2014 and ordered to demolish the Twin Towers. Demolition decision was upheld by the Supreme Court last week against the appeal in the matter.
Apart from examining decisions from 2009 to 2012 when the height of the Twin Towers was raised twice its earlier height, the SIT will also look into the responses and affidavits filed by then authority officials to justify their amended plans.
Responses of officials deputed in the planning, group housing and legal divisions till date will be scanned thoroughly.
“The comments of the Top Court tainted the image of the Noida Authority. Noida Authority officials should have taken corrective measures instead of continuing to oppose the RWA to avoid such huge conflict into the matter,” a Senior Government officer in Lucknow, following up with the SIT on the case stated.
