The US Court decides to disclose the secret 2009 deal of the late financier Jeffrey Epstein and Virginia Giuffre, which will directly impact on the allegations put on Prince Andrew by Giuffre.
On Wednesday, the US District Judge Lewis Kaplan and Judge Loretta Preska in Manhattan directed to unseal the agreement as there is no reason to keep it confidential anymore.
Judge Kaplan is the in charge of the Civil lawsuit filed by Giuffre on Andrew alleging that he forced her for sex for more than two decades ago when she was 18 years old at the London home of Epstein’s aide Ghislaine Maxwell and also abusing her in two of Epstein’s houses.
However, Andrew has declined all of the charges put by Giuffre.
Judge Preska is the supervisor of the Giuffre’s Lawsuit Accusing Harvard Law School professor Alan Dershowitz for defaming her when he rejected her allegations of him being a part of Epstein’s men who compelled her to have sex.
Andrew Brettler, prince’s lawyer has asserted that 2009 agreement with Epstein released the Duke of York from liability of Giuffre’s lawsuit as it covers “royalty” and Epstein insisted it would cover anyone Giuffre would sue.
David Boies, Giuffre’s Lawyer countered that the agreement is applied to most of people involved in underlying litigation in Florida, where the late financier had his home and also that prince Andrew should not be allowed to use it as free card to get out of jail.
Judge Kaplan has reserved this Case to January 04, 2022 to consider oral arguments on whether to dismiss Giuffre’s lawsuit against Andrew.
