As per Reports, A lawsuit has been filed against California State Senator Marie Alvarado-Gil, accusing her of sexually harassing her married male chief of staff and pressuring him into a sexually exploitative relationship. The lawsuit, brought by former chief of staff Chad Condit, claims that he endured unwanted sexual advances, including repeated demands for oral sex, and was subjected to emotional and physical abuse while employed by the senator.
Condit alleges that he felt compelled to engage in sexual acts to maintain his job, describing the dynamic as a “sex-based quid pro quo” where refusal led to professional retaliation. He further claimed that one such incident caused a back injury, resulting in three herniated discs and a collapsed hip. When he began using his injury to decline the Senator’s advances in August 2023, Alvarado-Gil allegedly issued a disciplinary letter accusing him of misconduct.
The lawsuit, filed in Sacramento County Superior Court, details how Senator Alvarado-Gil, elected in 2022, began sharing intimate details of her personal life, including her marital issues and substance use, soon after Condit was hired. Condit’s employment was ultimately terminated in December 2023 after he refused to wear a Santa Claus costume, which he claims was not required of other staff members.
Alvarado-Gil’s attorneys have denied all allegations, calling them “bogus” and “financially motivated.” Her legal counsel, Ognian Gavrilov, issued a statement claiming that Condit, a disgruntled former employee, fabricated the story for financial gain and expressed confidence that the Senator will be fully exonerated.
Alvarado-Gil, who recently made headlines for switching her party affiliation from Democrat to Republican, has yet to respond directly to the lawsuit.
