The Supreme Court, today issued notices to the Uttarakhand Government, the Centre and the Delhi police in the Haridwar hate speeches Cases.
The Supreme Court has asked the Uttarakhand Government to revert back in ten days.
The Bench led by the Chief Justice of India NV Ramana along with Justice Surya Kant and Justice Hima Kohli permitted the Petitioner to approach the local Authorities on their request to hold back the Dharam Sansad scheduled on January 23 in Aligarh (UP).
The Petition in the Supreme Court was filed by the former High Court Judge Justice Anjana Prakash and journalist Kurban Ali against the hate speeches earmarking the Muslims and seeks for fair probe by the Special Investigation Team.
Kapil Sibal, Senior Advocate informed the Court that despite of registrations of First Information Report (FIRs) no action has been initiated against the wrongdoers till now.
The Petition claims that the Police Officials seem to be in cooperation with the Culprits of the communal hate.
The Dharam Sansad Assembly was held for three days that is December 17 to 19 where several religious heads made atrocious comments and statements in the speeches they delivered. They had called upon people to use arms against the Muslims.
Following severe protests and condemning of the hate speech, FIRs have been filed in which Jitendra Tygai, Sagar Sindhu Maharaj, YatiNarasimhanand, Dharamdas and Pooja Shakun Pandey and other unknown people were named.
