A Delhi Court has reserved its decision on anticipatory bail of India’s two time Olympic medalists Sushil Kumar in connection with Chhatrasal Stadium Brawl which led to the death of a wrestler, Sagar Rana in the national capital.
An FIR of murder, abduction and criminal conspiracy was registered against Kumar, after which the wrestler ran away.
While a lookout notice was issued and Rupees 1 Lakh reward was also announced by Delhi Police for informing leads to the arrest of thee wrestler, the Police had to return empty handed after raiding his house.
Since the stadium brawl, the wrestler has been on the lam, prompting several raids in the Delhi-NCR area and neighboring states in an attempt to apprehend him.
As per the police, the brawl involved Kumar, Ajay, Prince Dalal, Sonu, Sagar, Amit and others, following which the case was registered under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Arms Act at the Model Town Police Station.
