On Saturday, 6th November, Mumbai-based Esplanade Court ordered to send dismissed Cop Sachin Waze to police custody till 13th November.

The Court sent Waze in custody in connection with an extortion case.

In relation to the same case, the Crime Branch also filed an Application requesting the Court to allow the recording of the witness’s statement under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC).

After considering the Application of the Crime Branch, the Court allowed the recording of the statement on the 8th of November.

The matter is all about an Extortion case filed on July 23rd against Sachin Waze, including Param Bir Singh, former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh, and others at Goregaon Police Station.

Later, the case was handed to the Mumbai Crime Branch and the Chandiwal Judicial Commission issued a Bailable Warrant against Param Bir Singh.

Singh is the same person who accused Anil Deshmukh of conducting malpractices and recently Deshmukh was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate.

Waze was also arrested by NIA in the case involving the recovery of around 20 explosives and a threat note in a Scorpio near Antilia, which is the house of industrialist Mukesh Ambani which also followed the murder of businessman Mansukh Hiren.

Waze, who was the former Assistant Police Inspector in the Crime Intelligence Unit (CIU), was sent to the custody of the Crime Branch on 1st November.

The Crime Branch asked for 10-day custody, however, the Esplanade Court only ordered 6-day custody.
