Security concerns escalated at the Bombay High Court on Friday after a bomb threat was reported, just hours after the Delhi High Court received a similar email.
Bar associations promptly advised advocates to vacate the court premises in South Mumbai’s Fort area, leading to the clearing of all courtrooms. Lawyers were seen leaving the premises as precautionary measures were enforced.
A senior Mumbai Police officer confirmed that the evacuation was carried out following the receipt of a threat mail. However, it is yet to be established whether the Bombay High Court received a separate threat or if its name was merely mentioned in the email sent to the Delhi High Court.
