A two-judge bench of Chief Justice of Delhi High Court DN Patel and Justice Jasmeet Singh asked the Centre if there was anything similar or related pending or disposed by the Supreme Court, listing the petition of Delhi Resident Dhananjai Jain.
This particular petition has asked for the removal of people who are allegedly pretending to be farmers and clear the roads and public places and asked for the Delhi Police commissioner to be discharged from his position and police officers who failed their duties on Republic Day to be punished.
The incident follows after on January 26th the farmer’s protest resulted in a violent clash that had injured more than three hundred police officers and had a farmer’s tractor overturning, resulting in the death of that farmer.
