In connection with the oxygen concentrator stashing case in which he has been accused, a Delhi court today detained businessman Navneet Kalra in police custody for three days.
Advocate Vineet Malhotra, who represented Kalra today, argued that custody of his applicant was unnecessary because the police already had his phone and the oxygen concentrator bills of sale.
On the evening of May 16, Kalra was apprehended by police at his brother-in-farmhouse law’s in Gurugram.
The week before, the Delhi High Court refused to give Kalra any temporary relief in the case of oxygen concentrator black marketing.
Just after the Delhi Police seized oxygen capacitors from “Khan Chacha” and other locations owned by Kalra, a lawsuit was registered against him under Sections 3 and 7 of the Essential Commodities Act, among many other provisions of law.
During the COVID-19 outbreak, the police reported that the smuggled concentrators were just being sold on the black market.
