Acharya Pramod: Rahul Gandhi Wanted to Overturn Supreme Court’s Ramjanmabhoomi Verdict

Former Congress leader Acharya Pramod Krishnam made a blast by revealing that Rahul Gandhi, in a meeting following the Supreme Court’s decision on the Ramjanmabhoomi case, had said they would “overturn the directive regarding the Ram temple once the Congress government comes into power”.

“I have spent more than 32 years in the Congress and when the Ram Mandir decision came, Rahul Gandhi in a meeting with his close aides said that after the Congress govt is formed, they will form a superpower commission and will overturn the Ram Mandir decision just like Rajiv Gandhi overturned the Shah Bano decision…” Acharya Pramod added.

Acharya Pramod Krishnam had been critical of Congress’ decision to not participate in the Ram Mandir’s pran pratishthan ceremony on January 22.

“In a historic verdict on November 9, 2019, the Supreme Court awarded the title of the disputed land to the deity Shri Ram Virajman. The court also directed Uttar Pradesh to grant the Sunni Waqf Board five acres in a prominent location in Ayodhya for the construction of a mosque. The disputed land was handed over to a trust to build the Ram Janmabhoomi temple at the site. Krishnam’s recent remarks come in the wake of his earlier claim that the Congress party was on the verge of a vertical split into factions loyal to Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.

He stated, ‘The way Rahul Gandhi abandoned Amethi, the morale of Congress party workers has plummeted. With Priyanka Gandhi opting out of the election, a sense of brewing discontent is growing among her supporters, which may erupt after June 4. Congress is likely to split into two factions again, one supporting Rahul Gandhi and the other backing Priyanka Gandhi… I believe Rahul Gandhi should contest from Rawalpindi instead of Raebareli, as his popularity and demand are increasing in Pakistan.'”
